Agricultural Overtime Law and Tax Credit

Oregon Department of Revenue and Bureau of Labor and Industries are partnering to provide an overview of the ag overtime law, information on exemptions and compliance, and applying for the tax credit.
Speakers:
Jessica Sandrock
Jessica Sandrock is the Training and Development Specialist for Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) Agricultural Compliance and Education (ACE) Unit. Her work focuses on providing outreach and serving as an educational resource for agricultural employers statewide. Jess will be providing a brief overview of the new agricultural overtime law, exemptions to the law, summarizing frequently asked questions regarding the law, and sharing resources available to agricultural employers.
Daron Prara
Daron Prara is an Oregon Department of Revenue tax policy analyst in the Personal Income Tax and Compliance Division. He graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology and has been with the department for over 19 years working out of the Medford and Salem field offices and now the Salem main building. He has been an auditor, senior auditor, and policy analyst in the personal income tax and corporate activity tax programs.
Favi Morales
Favi Morales is an Oregon Department of Revenue tax policy analyst in the Personal Income Tax and Compliance Division. She graduated from Oregon State University and has been with the department for over 14 years. She has been a bilingual field agent, training specialist, lead worker, and policy analyst in the personal income tax program and tax collection sections.

Join us to discuss how either generation can start the conversation, considerations for family or non-familial succession, and making sure the right people at the table to work through obstacles. We’ll take it a step further and walk through the things to think about before, during and after transition including knowledge transfer of key operational information, mentorship opportunities, a timeline for transition and professional resources to call on as you work through the process.
